Custom Radio [2017]

Around mid 2015, I decided to build my own car head unit out of dissatisfaction with the current aftermarket options.

The radio was based off of the Raspberry Pi 2 and would ran Kodi on a 7 inch touchscreen. It was a “front end” for the old head unit, which was moved to the trunk to only handle the audio amplification to the car speakers.

Design

The frame for the radio was constructed out of an old Volvo Radio, and a custom 3D printed screen bezel was installed to finish the look.
